Puebla, 2024

A mixed selection of snapshots from Puebla:
  • the sight of the Popocatepetl from the car window
  • a rainbow appearing on the wall of a restaurant under the sign "Evacuation Route"
  • an array of baby Jesus statues in a religious article stores pleading to be brought home
  • a house window with old paint on an very light blue wall and a sidewalk agave which feels somehow very serene.

Año Nuevo 2025

Thanks to the wonderful hospitality of Emilio, we spent New Year's Eve at his family's place in Ajalpan, in the Mexican state of Puebla, enjoying great company, delicious food, fireworks, torito, piñatas and music!

Iglesia del Cerrito

Iglesia del Cerrito is a church at the top of a hill in the municipality of Zinacatepec, Puebla, visited mostly by locals. Along the stairway up to the church, there are several Christmas-themed decorations, which create an intriguing juxtaposition with the background cactus vegetation.

New Year's Day parade at San Sebastián Zinacatepec

We came across this religious parade with beautiful traditional dresses while driving by the small village of San Sebastián Zinacatepec on New Year's Day.
