Sirmione

For as long as I can remember, I have always been drawn by trees, roads, buildings that by some twist of fate enter the liquid realm (if you are like me, you may want to read James Ballard's "The Drowned World").

This is from Sirmione, an ancient town in Lombardy built on a peninsula jutting out on Lake Garda's waters.

Out of the blue

Two pictures taken almost twenty years ago with a point and shoot digital camera at an aquarium, and no technical expertise whatsoever.

Still, I find these to be quite evocative.  A case in point that an uncanny balance between seen and unseen can make an image much more compelling than an ultra-sharp, high-definition, HDR, see-it-all picture.

A blurry, flowing picture of a fish in dark water; quite pictorial and mysterious
